European Youth Centre Budapest (EYCB)
The European Youth Centre Budapest (EYCB) is a human rights program of the Council
of Europe. The Council of Europe is the continent’s oldest political organization,
founded in 1949. The Council was set up to: defend human rights, parliamentary
democracy and the rule of law. It groups together 45 countries, including 21
countries from Central and Eastern Europe . Located in Strasbourg , France ,
it is known for adopting the European Convention on Human Rights and for the
European Court on Human Rights. EYCB is the youth programme of the Council of
Europe. Located in Budapest , Hungary it has programmes for training of trainers
in human rights education, intercultural dialogue, intercultural learning and
human rights education in Hungary and the Mediterranean region.
