Fatima Seedat

Fatima Seedat is currently focusing on marriage and divorce laws in the South African Muslim Law reform process. She is working on developing a gender analysis of Islamic jurisprudence on a broader scale. She has been an international consultant on the synthesis of research on family law systems in 23 countries, a lecturer in Religious Studies, Deputy Director of a Parliamentary Office, Founder and Executive member of Shura Yabafazi-Women's Advocacy Group, and is currently with the University of Durban-Westville in Durban South Africa. Her focus areas are organizational transformation, development, religion, culture, and tradition.
