Annotated Bibliography on Violence Against Women:
A Health and Human Rights Concern
This bibliography is produced
by the World Health Organization’s Global
Commission on Women’s Health. It was prepared by Rights and Humanity in
collaboration with Women, Health and Development and the Global Commission on
Women’s Health. Part of the World Health Organization (WHO) mandate is
to understand and work with concepts about women’s health that for many
people in the health field may be new and unfamiliar. The idea that sex and gender
have a vital bearing on health, and the nexus between violence against women
as a health and human rights concern is such a topic.
