WRDP is a non-governmental organization, which was established in order to increase women's visibility through research into and documentation on women's and gender concerns. The 40 members are women professionals from a range of disciplines, such as education, law, research, documentation, administration, linguistics, statistics and journalism. WRDP not only promotes research and documentation by means of publishing, organizing conferences, lobbying and networking, but also undertakes grass-root advocacy and offers its members space for capacity building in research and documentation skills. It has a well established documentation centre with books mainly English and Swahili.
