Norwegian Centre for Human Rights (NCHR)
The Norwegian Centre for Human Rights is an independent National human rights
institution affiliated with the University of Oslo, Norway. In 1998, it founded
the Oslo Coalition on Freedom of Religion or Belief, a coalition of experts
and representatives from religious and non-religious beliefs. The Oslo Coalition
works on a project basis, cooperating with partners in other countries to promote
freedom of religion or belief through facilitation of new networks, organizations
of conferences and support of useful studies in the field of freedom of religion
or belief. Projects include: The China Project, The Central Asia and Caucasus
Project, the Indonesia Project, Teaching Tolerance and Freedom of Religion or
Belief, New Directions in Islamic Thought and Practice and Facilitating Freedom
of Religion or Belief-A Deskbook.
