University of Essex Human Rights Centre

The University of Essex Human Rights Center is located at the University of Essex , Colchester , United Kingdom . The Centre consists of over fifty human rights experts, on campus and beyond, encompassing a rich and diverse range of disciplines, experience, expertise and backgrounds. In 1983, it established the first postgraduate degree in international human rights law in the United Kingdom . It introduced a suite of undergraduate human rights degrees, among the first in the United Kingdom and the world. Human rights research is informed by human rights practice. For many years, senior staff have held--and continue to occupy-key positions in the UN human rights and development fields.
