– TORTURED FEMININITY – Documentary Film
This film was the topic of our WFUWO – World Federation of
Ukrainian Women’s Organizations event at the Ukrainian Museum on March 14,
2015, organized to coincide with the meetings of the Commission on the Status
of Women. Tetyana Pushnova, Executive Producer, Ukraine Today was on hand, as
well as Dr Lada Roslycky, who spoke about the genesis of the film, the
groundwork for it, and how it came to be that her initiative to bring this
story out finally broke the silence on a painful aspect of the war.
WFUWO was also honored to greet guests from Ukraine who shared with us their experiences in helping women during the war time to overcome their fears and challenges. They inspire each other to become stronger in such a difficult time for our country. Each of them had a story to tell. And those stories unfortunately will stay a part of their lives. But despite everything, they continue to live, to live for their husbands, their children and the better future of Ukraine.
