The
WWSF - Women's World Summit Foundation reminds you of its new International Campaign for
the EMPOWERMENT OF RURAL WOMEN AND THEIR COMMUNITIES - TO RISE AND CLAIM YOUR
RIGHTS FOR DEVELOPMENT, EQUALITY, AND PEACE: 1-17 OCTOBER 2015.
The
campaign was launched in May and we wish to remind you that in order to be part
of an international coalition that takes part in the campaign, we invite you to
register ONLINE and announce your activities and plans for action for all other
members to see and to support you. Only registered programs will be counted and
we therefore need to remind you to create your account on line and WWSF will
then register you on its Website and the Google map for all to consult ad see.
Objective
of the campaign: to empower rural women leaders and their groups to rise and
claim their rights by lobbying foremost the local traditional lasers and then
the government leaders to demand urgent action for the implementation of
the promised development objectives promised in 1995 at the Beijing
Women's conference.
Local
and government leaders must be held accountable through mobilization of
movements, such as the women's movement, the human rights movements,
trade unions, etc. All governments must create a national plan and must
recognize their responsibilities for rural women and their families.
WWSF
serves you by preparing an annual CALL TO ACTION and Empowerment Kit (which is
published online in English (a French version is in process) and presents in
the Kit 17 development topics with statistics, resources and ideas for
action.
We
remain available for any question you may have and invite you to download the
Empowerment Kit from our website and inform us of your programs this year.
