Atria houses one of the oldest collections on women and gender world-wide, and documents and preserves women’s history. Placing issues in an historical perspective makes the institute unique.

 

THE MAPPING THE WORLD DATABASE CONTAINS ADDRESSES AND INFORMATION ABOUT MORE THAN 400 WOMEN’S INFORMATION CENTRES AROUND THE WORLD.

 

Women’s rights and empowerment through information

As far as Atria is concerned, access to information is essential for women to be empowered and to secure their rights. In many places in the world, it is difficult for women to find or access the information they need. That is why Atria developed the Mapping the World database.

Submitting information on information centres

For registration of a women’s information centre that is not yet included in the Mapping the World database or in order to update data, please contact us.
