Indigenous Peoples will be held on 22-23 September 2014, NYC. The meeting will
be an opportunity to share perspectives and best practices on the realization

A
Guide to Indigenous Women's Rights under the International Convention on the
Elimination of All Forms of Discrimination Against Women
This
short guide aims to provide practical information for indigenous peoples and
organisations to support their use of United Nations and regional human rights
mechanisms, including the International Convention on the Elimination of All
Forms of Discrimination Against Women (CEDAW). The guide provides general
information on the CEDAW and its monitoring body, the Committee on the
Elimination of All Forms of Discrimination Against Women (CEDAW Committee); an
overview of the procedures that can be used by indigenous women to hold states
accountable for human rights violations under CEDAW; and information on other
UN human rights bodies and procedures that might be invoked to highlight the
concerns of indigenous women within the UN system.
