WARSAW, POLAND (November 18, 2013) - What are the gender gaps in climate change mitigation? This is the question the Women’s Environment and Development Organization (WEDO), the Global Gender and Climate Alliance (GGCA) and the International Network on Gender and Sustainable Energy (ENERGIA) answer in their new publication: Exposing Gender Gaps in Financing Climate Change Mitigation – and Proposing Solutions and in a summary factsheet (available in English, French and Spanish).
This publication, supported
by the Climate & Development Knowledge Network (CDKN), presents three case
studies and an overview and contributes to the limited pool of research on the
linkages between gender equality and mitigation finance. Best practices are
highlighted from mitigation projects implemented in Colombia, Mali and Nepal,
and recommendations are made for next steps to improve research on the issue
and develop gender-sensitive tools geared to climate finance and mitigation
experts and practitioners.
