NIKK’s assignment is to gather and share knowledge about policy and practice, facts and research on gender equality through out the Nordic countries and to a broad group of stakeholders. We strive to provide you with excellent knowledge that can be serve as a basis for policy discussions in the Nordic countries.

The Nordic gender equality cooperation focuses on the following four topics:

1. Gender equality in the labour market
2. Gender equality in education
3. Gender, ethnicity and gender equality
4. Zero tolerance for gender-based violence

NIKK to explore the costs of part-time work

2013-01-31 - We already know that women work part-time more often than men, but how does it affect them economically? NIKK is determined to find an answer to this question as part of a Nordic project. The results will be presented in October at a conference in Stockholm.

Part-time work is common in the Nordic countries, especially among women. About 41 per cent of all employed Norwegian women work part-time, and part-time work is common in female-dominated occupations. The situation is similar in the other Nordic countries – the only exception is Finland, where it is more common that women work full-time......
