The
program was jointly launched by the Maternal and Child Health Care of China
Association and China Women's News, and was sponsored by Huggies under
the Kimberly-Clark (China) Company. In attendance at the ceremony were more
than 200 people, including leaders of the Maternal and Child Health Care of
China Association and China Women's News, program chiefs, expectant
and new mothers.
The pilot programs that will be implemented across the country this year will
work to build about 100 schools for pregnant women, draw up job specifications
for the schools, compile training textbooks, organize training sessions for
teachers, set up a communications platform for pregnant women, create maternal
health knowledge learning materials, and several other tasks.
At
the ceremony, Director of the Maternal and Child Health Care of China
Association Zhang Wenkang delivered a speech in which he said that he hopes the
program will help more expectant mothers have a healthy pregnancy and
childbirth experience.
Director of China Women's News Huang Haiqun also delivered a speech at
the ceremony in which she said that China Women's News will help raise public
awareness of the program.
