Violence against women and
girls in Latin America and the Caribbean, and the Diaspora, in
the public and private spheres, impacts gender human rights, social
justice, equality, and empowerment. This CSW 57 High Level Panel will offer
analysis of international human rights documents, a review of existing domestic
violence data, and findings of extensive groundbreaking research studies in the
region. The varied regional cultural dimensions, and challenges, will
be integrated into the presentations. In addition, this Panel will include
discussion of policies, programs, and movements bringing progress against
domestic violence in Latin America, Caribbean, and the
Diaspora.
