Are the Women”(2012)
is the 6th annual policy initiative produced by FemLINKPACIFIC as the convenors
of the Regional Women’s Media and Policy Network on UNSCR1325 (Women, Peace and
Security). This publication contains 81 profiles of rural women and young women
in Fiji, the experiences of women in local government as well as experiences of
women in post conflict democratization processes in the Solomon Islands and
Bougainville, bringing together a series of narratives of women who continue to
demonstrate the capacity for leadership and the existing knowledge available in
our Pacific Islands Region to increase women’s political representation in the
region – at sub-national and national level......
