ENDING VIOLENCE AGAINST WOMEN: AN OXFAM GUIDE

Direct Link: English manual (2MB)

Violence against women and girls (VAW) is one of the most rampant human rights violations. According to United Nations estimates, one in three women world-wide has experienced physical or sexual violence because she is a woman. Violence is a major obstacle to women’s and girls’ development, and to the welfare and development of their communities and societies as a whole. Oxfam works to end violence against women because it is a human rights violation and a major obstacle to human development. For effective interventions, we need to define violence against women and understand its main causes.
