Niger, 2012: The Convention on the Rights of the Child (CRC) – the world’s most endorsed human rights treaty – celebrated its twenty-third anniversary on 20 November 2012. The CRC expresses in international law the rights due every child, including the poorest and most marginalized. All children have the right to grow “in the spirit of peace, dignity, tolerance, freedom, equality and solidarity,” advises the CRC’s Preamble. DOES THIS GIRL IN NIGER GO TO SCHOOL?

IS HER BIRTH REGISTERED?

WILL SHE BE FORCED INTO EARLY MARRIAGE?

CAN SHE BREAK HER FAMILY'S CYCLE OF POVERTY?
