Each year, the Forum welcomes the participation of representatives of Member States, United Nations mechanisms, bodies and specialized agencies, funds and programmes, intergovernmental organizations, regional organizations and mechanisms in the field of human rights, national human rights institutions and other relevant national bodies, academics and experts on minority issues and NGOs.
In addition to a wide range of stakeholders, and given the thematic focus of this session of the Forum, the participants were chosen belonging to minorities who were actively engaged in or have experience:
- promoting the education of minority women and girls;
- encouraging greater political participation of minority
women at national or local levels;
- developing programmes to enable minority women’s access
to income-generating activities;
- working together with minority women in social
projects;
- achieving success in the arts, science, culture and
sports; and
- as minority women leaders.
