visited Biruh Tesfa, a UN program supporting teen girls in the Amhara
region of Ethiopia, in April of 2011, as a follow-up to a UN Foundation
visit in 2010. We met girls with inspiring stories — girls who
escaped child marriage to attend school and learn life skills
that they can invest back into their families for years to come.
