Shaikh Mohammed has approved new categories of housing loans
allowing female citizens in Dubai, who are married to foreigners, to avail of
home mortgage financing.
His Highness Shaikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime
Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, has approved new categories of housing
loans allowing female citizens in Dubai, who are married to foreigners, to
avail of home mortgage financing.
The latest rules also permit national males with two wives to apply for credit
to finance the purchase or construction of residences for each wife.
Further details released on Tuesday reveal that the board of the Mohammed Bin
Rashid Housing Establishment (MBRHE) also approved a new batch of 131
beneficiaries in Dubai who are eligible for land grants and public housing.
Sami Abdullah Gargash, CEO of MBRHE, announced the new plans, saying that the
establishment had already begun to draft regulations and procedures to
implement the recent changes.
Gargash also announced the creation of an early payment system enabling
citizens to complete their loans obligations ahead of schedule with discounted
rates.
Two days ago Shaikh Mohammed paid a visit to the MBRHE, where he received
updates on the housing authority’s latest developments and initiatives. Shaikh
Mohammed was also briefed on studies undertaken by the housing authority in
their quest to provide housing solutions for Dubai’s citizens. Omar Abdel
Rahman Al Ahli, Director of Grants and Housing Loans at the MBRHE, said that
the adoption of the new financing policies comes in line with Shaikh Mohammed’s
vision to provide all citizens with decent living standards.
