BIBLIOGRAPHY
This summary of current literature is designed to give practitioners a concise and comprehensive overview of current knowledge and analysis on violence against women. It is intended to inform leaders, legislators, policy makers and other key decision makers in government and programme designers in government and civil society.
The literature review presents material from reports listed in the annotated bibliography on the following topics:
a)
Nature
and extent of gender-based violence in the Pacific
b)
Social
context and challenges in addressing violence against women and girls
c)
Access
to justice for survivors of gender violence
d)
Access
to support services
e)
Preventing
violence against women and girls
f)
Recommendations.
The review provides
information from the following Pacific Island Countries: Cook Islands,
Federated States of Micronesia, Fiji, Kiribati, Nauru, Niue, Palau, Papua New
Guinea, Republic of the Marshall Islands, Samoa, Solomon Islands, Tonga,
Tokelau, Tuvalu, and Vanuatu.
The literature review
and annotated bibliography are ‘living’ documents, and will be updated
