What: UN Women, the new UN organization dedicated to gender equality and the empowerment of women, celebrates its launch. An evening event featuring music and film brings together political leaders, extraordinary women leaders, media personalities and celebrities.

When: Thursday, 24 February 2011, 6:30-8:00 pm

Where: UN Headquarters, New York, General Assembly Hall.

New York Journalists: 50 spaces for media will be reserved; you must RSVP by 23 February to www.unwomen.org/rsvp/event/11.

Outside New York: The celebration will be webcast at www.un.org/webcast.
