The 100th Anniversary of
International Women’s Day - March 8th, 2011 - is an important day for women all
around the world. On this day, individuals and organizations around the globe
will join the White Ribbon Alliance in celebrating the strength, the courage
and the contributions women have made to our families and to our communities.
This historic celebration allows us to recognize the many milestones that women
have achieved and acknowledge there is still much to be done to achieve gender
equality and extend to all girls and women health care so they don’t risk life
to give birth.
To honor the 100th anniversary of
International Women’s Day, WRA invites you to take action to bring about
meaningful change for girls and women:
"Every mother in the world
dreams that her daughter will have a better life than she has.
My mother was married at age 9
and had her first child at age 13. She wants more for me."
Hadhya Yahya Mohamed Al-Zawm, National
Safe Motherhood
Join WRA in highlighting the hopes and dreams for girls and women for the next 100 years. We invite you to submit your words, videos and photos of dreams for your daughters or the young women of tomorrow. Submissions from around the world will be showcased on our website and in future WRA films.
