By elopement we mean “running away” but not essentially for the purpose of marriage. As discussed with our law specialist, they use “elopement” and “run away” interchangeably. She further said elopement for the purpose of marriage is not a crime. It shouldn’t be a crime when a woman or girl runs away to rescue own self from violence (as stated in the press release).
