CALL FOR CREATIVE SUBMISSIONS -
LATIN AMERICA - WOMEN & ECONOMICS
THE
EXHIBITION
The International Museum of Women is seeking creative work from artists, writers, activists, and thinkers for its forthcoming Project of Economica, a global online exhibition called Focusing on Latin America. We are especially interested in work from or about women in the countries Costa Rica, Mexico, and Argentina.
Focusing on Latin America is the latest Project of Economica: Women and the Global Economy. In Focusing on Latin America, the International Museum of Women will showcase work that reflects the themes and topics explored in Economica: Women in the Global Economy, with a special lens on women in Latin America and their relationship to local and global economies; subjects include business leadership, microfinance, funding, marriage and money, etc. We accept work that is from or about all countries in Latin America, but we are particularly interested in work from or about Costa Rica, Mexico, and Argentina.
GUIDELINES FOR SUBMISSION
Focusing on Latin America will features the contributions, experiences, struggles and successes of women in Latin America as they participate in the economy. We invite you to share your thoughts and creativity about the issues that most affect women in Latin America's economic participation. Your work could be viewed and discussed by millions of exhibition visitors from around the world!
HOW TO SUBMIT
PLEASE KEEP IN MIND:
DEADLINE
Submissions must be received by AUGUST 15, 2010. Late submissions will not be considered. Early submissions are encouraged.
WHAT TO SUBMIT
Creative work of any kind. Look at IMOW's Your Voices section for
examples, or see the stories below.
Art: Submit images of your paintings, drawings, sculptures,
prints, or cartoons. Include a minimum 100-word description. Upload .jpg, .gif,
or .bmp files sized 600 pixels wide, minimum 72 dpi (300 dpi preferred). Limit
9 images per submission.
Example: Migration
Series
Photography: Submit your photojournalism and artistic
photography. Please include a minimum 100-word description. Upload .jpg, .gif
or .bmp files sized at 600 pixels wide and a minimum of 72 dpi (300 dpi
preferred). Limit 10 images per submission.
Example: Women of
Kenya Are...
Personal Stories/Creative Writing: Submit your short stories,
poetry or creative essays. Limit: 300 to 1000 words. Please include an image
for visual interest and a minimum 100-word description.
Example: Dearest
Maids
Journalism/Activism Articles: Submit original articles, essays
or non-fiction writing about the issues that matter to you and the work you are
doing to change the world. Limit: 300 to 1000 words. Please include an image
for visual interest and a 100-word description.
Example: A Little

Music/Audio: Submit your music videos, songs, spoken word or
podcasts. Please include a minimum 100-word description. Upload .avi, .mp3,
.aiff .aif or .wav files no more than 40MB each. Limit two videos per
submission.

Video/Animation: Submit your video, film, trailers or
animation. Please include a minimum 100-word description. Upload .mov, .avi,
.mp4, .aiff, .aif or .wav files no more than 40MB each. Limit two videos per
submission.

Empowerment Collection
.All submissions will be reviewed by the I.M.O.W. team. If approved, submissions will be posted to the I.M.O.W. website and included in our RSS Story Feed.
