FemLINKPACIFIC Fiji Report:
"In the first quarter of 2010,
Fiji women have identified ECONOMIC SECURITY, ENVIRONMENTAL SECURITY, and
HEALTH SECURITY as their key priorities.
The Fiji women speak of the
struggle to put food on the table, the inability to afford all the costs of
sending children to school, the importance of land security for homes and
farming, and the inability to access medicine and health services. Many of
these priorities, of course, are inter-connected...In total, 221 women's
stories and responses from Labasa, Savusavu, Nadi, Ba and the greater Suva area
are reflected in our findings and commentary documented through monthly
interviews, the convening of monthly FemLINK "1325" Network meetings,
weather watch reports, our Household Income & Expenditure Surveys,
inter-generational meetings convened in Suva, as well as very personal stories
and reflections written by women themselves."
