Gender & Development Journal Seeks Information on the Impact of the Economic Crisis on Microfinance Lending to Poor Women in Development Countries

Is anyone researching the impact of the economic crisis on microfinance lending to poor women in developing countries? Microfinance has been a major source of financing for women entrepreneurs and workers in the informal economy, and we want to know what impact the crisis is having on this key source of income to them.

We are currently co-editing a Special Issue of Oxfam GB's journal Gender and Developmenton the Economic Crisis. We publish insights from researchers and development workers, aiming to inspire and inform development advocacy, community development work and campaigning which promotes gender equality and women's rights.
