Human trafficking is one of the most
critical human rights abuses of our times which in turn makes it a significant
area of intervention for those trying to address gender, HIV, and poverty
issues......Despite growing concern and awareness about trafficking, the
victims, perpetrators, and even the issue itself remain nearly
invisible.....Human trafficking continues with near impunity, militating
against all human rights.
The present study intended to
understand this social phenomenon with a focus on drawing attention to the
nature, magnitude and the consequences of trafficking of women and girls in
India.....This research addresses the consequences of trafficking and the
adversities that migration itself generates."
