The Ministry of Women's Affairs of
New Zealand is leading this research project on effective interventions for
adult victims/survivors of sexual violence. This report presents results on a
study of ATTRITION OF CASES RECORDED AS SEXUAL VIOLATION. The main aim was to
assess what proportion and type of cases dropped out at each stage of the
criminal justice process (The Attrition Rate), from recording of the offence by
police to final disposition or outcome.
