WOMEN & CHILDREN STRUGGLE

 

Officials said the flooding was Manila's worst in nearly half a century.

MANILA — The death toll from a storm that ravaged the Philippines over the weekend reached at least 100 on Monday, with many more deaths expected and thousands of Filipinos still trapped in their homes by floodwaters. The National Disaster Coordinating Council raised the death toll from 86 on Monday afternoon, but officials of the provinces of Batangas and Rizal said there were at least 100 other fatalities. In Rizal Province alone, officials said, 82 residents had died.......
