The publication from the EWL Observatory against VAW offers a proposal
for a policy framework and indicators for measuring success in the fight
against VAW in the area of budgets, legal developments,
service provision, training of professionals, civil society, datacollection and
prevention measures.
It also presents case
studies of models of good practice from Ireland, the UK, Germany,
Portugal, Austria, Sweden, Finland, Denmark, Italy and the Netherlands
regarding domestic violence, rape and sexual assault, prostitution and
trafficking in women, Female Genital Mutilation and women’s diversity.
The guide offers a monitoring
tool to assess government policies to combat violence against women
which has been applied by the experts of the European Observatory and national
observatories.
