Regulations
The Macedonian Woman’s Rights Centre has issued a GUIDE FOR THE ENFORCEMENT OF EUROPEAN COMMISSION REGULATIONS ON SEXUAL HARASSMENT AT THE WORK PLACE, with the financial support of the OSCE.
Expert reports of the European Commission state that sexual harassment is a serious problem of many women that work in the European Community, and researches conducted in the member states undoubtedly show that the problem of sexual harassment is not an isolated incident. On the contrary, it has been recorded that for millions of women in the European Community sexual harassment is an inevitable part of their career. Therefore, this guide aims at analyzing the European Commission regulations, and being a practical guide for employers, syndicates, and employees in the protection of dignity of men and women at their work places. Illustrated by facts, figures and legislations from all European countries, the report looks at the definition of sexual harassement, the legal responsibilities of the employer, the collective agreements, and gives concrete recommendations to employers and unions (prevention and action).
