Thank you to all who participated in the theme consultation this year! The
Center for Women's Global Leadership received many exciting suggestions
covering a range of issues. After careful consideration, CWGL is pleased to
announce the 2009 Theme for the 16 Days of Activism Against Gender Violence
Campaign:
COMMIT ▪ ACT ▪
DEMAND: We CAN End Violence Against Women!

Over the next few months, CWGL will be working to develop more specific and
detailed materials to include in the 2009 Take Action Kit. We welcome your
suggestions for campaigning strategies that you have found useful in your work.
**CALL FOR TRANSLATIONS**
The Theme Announcement will be available in French and Spanish by the end of
the week. CWGL relies on volunteers to help with the translation of campaign
materials each year. If you are willing to assist with translating the 2009
Theme Announcement, please contact 16days@cwgl.rutgers.edu.
Your assistance in making the 16 Days Campaign more accessible to groups around
the world is greatly appreciated!
