AMONG LOWEST IN THE WORLD
Photo: Zackary Canepari for The New York Times
PAKISTAN: A girl attends a public elementary school. Today, only about half

similar per-capita income, like Vietnam. Girls' enrollment is among the lowest
in the world, lagging behind Ethiopia and Yemen.
