Nations Launches Database on Violence Against Women
The
United Nations Secretary General launched a database on violence against
women on 5 March 2009. The database is the product of a 2006 General Assembly
resolution 61/143 calling for more efforts to eliminate violence against
women, urging “States to ensure the systematic collection and analysis of

Release: [Call for Proposals] UN Trust Fund in Support of Actions to Eliminate
Violence Against Women
The
UN Trust Fund in Support of Actions to Eliminate Violence against Women has
launched its annual Call for Proposals (2009). The focus of this year’s
Call is on closing the gap on the implementation of national and local laws,
policies and action plans that address violence against women and girls.
