11 January 2009: COHRE today released the fifth edition of its electronic Bulletin on housing rights and the right to the city in Latin America, prepared by COHRE's Americas Programme and published in English, Spanish and Portuguese versions.

This edition focuses on gender in relation to housing rights and the right to the city in Latin America.

Featured articles include: "Space is not neutral: some reflections on habitation and the city from a gender standpoint" (by Zaida Muxi Martinez); "A home, more than just a shelter, a right and a citizen's prerogative" (by Ana Falu); "Women, Slums and Urbanization" (by Victoria Ricciardi and Mayra Gomez); and "Considerations on the right of Lesbians, Gays, Bisexuals and Transsexuals to demand the Rights to Habitation and the City" (by Robinson Sanchez Tamayo).
