The uninvited guest
The one you deliberately do not send a nice card to
on mother’s day
Or any other holiday, for that matter
Or never speak well of
All because
She wrote
She, she, she…
That infamous she devil
She wrote
The book
It doesn’t matter if she wrote the book
To give a voice to those who are voiceless
To give a face and a significance to
Those trapped in jails, hospitals, psych wards
Those unlovely victims of incest, rape, domestic
violence.
And yes, dare we say it
Prostitution…The P word
By turning her away
You kept her there
Mother
Oh, the shame of it.
In that place
Evil girl child runaway
She asked for it, chose it, deserved it.
The problem is
Mother, I am the she, the it
The one uninvited
Not to be spoke of
I am the “she”
Third person, nightmare
mother
I am the she
The she
The It the evil one who wrote
The Book
Are you telling me mother that I shouldn’t have
started a revolution?
What if it was your daughter who was a victim of child sex trafficking?
And since She was, your daughter, do not invite her, ever.
