Women's suffrage activists in
early 20th century Finland
Throughout
the month of October, the Center for European Studies is
hosting a series of events centering on Finland. They range from an exhibition
celebrating the 100th anniversary of women’s right to vote – and to
be elected – in Finland, entitled “100 Years of Women’s
Voices and Action in Finland,” created, organized, and installed at
the Center by the National Council of Women of Finland (October 3 - October
31), to a panel on women’s suffrage, to talks on Finland in general and on
Helsinki in particular, to the screening of films by Aki Kaurismäki, Klaus
Härö, and Jim Jarmusch.
