VIOLENCE AGAINST WOMEN

Three reports of the Secretary-General on violence against women will be considered by the Third Committee during the 63rd session of the General Assembly:

1. Report of the Secretary-General on intensification of efforts to eliminate all forms of violence against women (A/63/214)
2. Report of the Secretary-General on trafficking in women and girls (A/63/215)
3. Report of the Secretary-General on eliminating rape and other forms of sexual violence in all their manifestations, including in conflict and related situations (A/63/216)

A comprehensive questionnaire has been sent to Member States seeking information for the coordinated violence against women database. A brochure is available, and has been distributed to Member States during the 63rd session of the General Assembly.

Issue No. 1 of Words to action, the Division’s quarterly e-newsletter on violence against women is now available online.

The update of the inventory of United Nations system activities on violence against women for the period February – September 2008.  It is available online.
