A World Without Terrorism: Women Know How
Women Without Borders will bring together 35 women from
across the globe to meet in Vienna at the end of November to launch SAVE-
Sisters Against Violent Extremism. SAVE is aimed at redefining the
discussion on terrorism and contributing to community based solutions.
The list of participants includes victims and survivors of terrorist attacks,
relatives of the 9/11 attackers, activists, educators, policy makers, and
peace-building experts from Europe, USA, India, Malaysia, Africa, Israel,
Palestine, Latin America, Sri Lanka, the Philippines.
Our Agenda: A Tomorrow without Terrorism
SAVE connects female leaders, advocates, and activists to
combat violent extremism by utilizing community-based solutions.
Sisters Against Violent Extremism (SAVE) is a global initiative that aims to mobilize women around the world against terror and violence and is dedicated to the use of diplomacy and alternative strategies.
This innovative movement utilizes 'smart power:' courageous dialogue that
will transgress traditional boundaries. SAVE seeks to prevent terror so that
combat will be deemed unnecessary; deterrence has proven more fruitful than
containment.
The question that unties us today is: How can we live together without fear,
intimidation and violence?
