Dubai — The Dubai School of Government (DSG), in cooperation
with the Dubai Women’s Establishment (DWE), will hold the First Arab Women

Themed “Women
and Leadership: Global Trends and Local Innovations”, the event will be

Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai. The
forum will be led by Shaikha Manal bint Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum,

According to
Maitha Al Shamsi, Managing Director of DWE, this is the first in a series of
annual leadership international forums to be organised by DWE under its mandate
of enhancing the contribution of working women in the economic and social
development of the UAE.
“It also
pursues a holistic objective of DWE to ensure that Emirati women play a key
role not only on the local arena but also throughout the Gulf region.” She
added that the DWE annual forum is an opportunity to acknowledge the
contribution of outstanding individuals and organisations that have contributed
to advancing women’s leadership worldwide.
Al Shamsi
stated that having the DSG as DWE’s knowledge partner is a vital factor for the
success of this pioneering conference on women’s leadership. “We believe that
the experience and expertise of the DSG, especially their gender and public
policy programme, will give us the opportunity to learn from leading women,”
she stressed.
Dr May Al
Dabbagh, Director of the Gender and Public Policy Programme at DSG, said that
DSG is proud of its partnership with the DWE. “We are also looking forward to
potential future collaborations, which will result in knowledge production and
policy change in issues related to women.”
