Funders' Network
for Afghan Women: Mapping Gender in Afghanistan Database
The FNAW Mapping Gender in Afghanistan Database, is a unique database, supporting women and girls, addressing gender inequality, and/or improving the status of women. It is one of FNAW’s contributions towards improving coordination, avoiding duplication and sharing lessons learned for people and organizations who are trying to support women’s and girls’ empowerment efforts.
We aim to give donors the opportunity to identify potential partners with expertise and experience in a particular sector, to see where similar projects have been conducted in the past, and to network with donors or partners engaged in common work, among other benefits. Our objective is to assist donors and implementing organizations in Afghanistan and elsewhere to coordinate, reduce duplication and overlap, and to build on previous work, experience and lessons learned from “doing gender” in Afghanistan.
What
you will find on our database? You will be able to obtain information
on all gender focused organizations, programs and projects, registered in this
site, in terms of: project name, sector of development, location, targeted
beneficiaries, outcome, donor, implementing partners, and contact information
for the organization.
Who can
access database? The database is accessible to any Afghanistan-based
national organization, to member
funders of FNAW, and to any organization that contributed data on their own
projects and programs to the database.
Want your organization featured on the database? Our intention is to have the most up to date database, that will grow alongside the addition of new Gender Related Projects and Programs in Afghanistan. We welcome information on your projects and programs to help keep our data base current, comprehensive, and growing.
If you are an organization, program, project, and/or donor working with Gender in Afghanistan, this database is a vital source of information and networking to help your program. Each month, a newly joining organization, will be a featured organization on our front page! This service is free of cost.
