AWID - Where is the Money
for Women’s Rights? - Global Survey
AWID GLOBAL SURVEY to increase the amount and quality of funding
available to support women’s rights organisations around the world. There
is also a special section for those organisations specifically working with
young women.
Deadline is this Friday, 20 June, 2008.
Dear colleague,
With our “Where is the Money for Women’s Rights?” initiative, AWID has been working to increase the amount and quality of funding available to support women’s rights organizations around the world. In the last four years we have seen growing commitments by some donors (for example the Dutch and Norwegian governments) to support women’s rights organizations and yet we know that many challenges persist, in particular for small organizations with limited access to large donor agencies. Our latest report, “Financial sustainability for women’s movements worldwide” with key information on these issues, can be found here:

We hope that you will be a part of this initiative by participating in AWID’s new survey. With this survey, we’ll be updating key information on the financial situation and overall state of women’s organizations. We’ve also included a special section that focuses on organizations working with young women. Your participation in the survey will help us get a fuller picture of the situation and continue to make a compelling case for more and better funding for women’s organizations.
We ask you to please take just a few minutes to complete this SURVEY by clicking here:

In recognition of your time
and contribution, AWID will enter your name in a draw for two chances to
attend, fully funded, AWID’s upcoming 11th International Forum on Women
Only one completed survey per organization will be accepted. You are welcome to complete the survey yourself or forward it to an appropriate colleague from your organization. We would also be grateful if you could share this invitation with other women’s rights organizations you know that might be interested in participating. A greater number of responses will allow us to have more comprehensive data on the financial situation of women’s rights organizations.
We look forward to sharing the results of this survey and our on-going research with you in the coming months. In the meantime, if you have any questions, or would like additional information on this initiative, please contact fundher@awid.org
Thank you from AWID!
