MIND ON THE MEDIA

GIRLS' IMAGES IN THE MEDIA

TURN BEAUTY INSIDE OUT PROGRAM - GIRLS - INNER BEAUTY, HEALTH, SELF ESTEEM, ISSUES OF GIRLS' IMAGES & ADVERTISING

Today we celebrate Turn Beauty Inside Out Day - a day of celebrating Inner Beauty - the beauty of conviction, caring and action.  Girls and boys (not to speak of women and men) need a definition of beauty that focuses on who they are and what they do, not on how they look.

Turn Beauty Inside Out (TBIO) was created in 2000 by
New Moon Magazine and is coordinated by the non-profit organization, Mind on the Media. This is a collaborative effort to foster participation, discussion, and awareness of girls' images in the media. Girls and boys (not to speak of women and men) need a definition of beauty that focuses on who they are and what they do, not on how they look.

Organizations have used the TBIO Action Kit to help them get started!  But the TBIO campaign doesn't end today - TBIO events can be organized any day of the year!
Request your Action Kit online -  it's FREE!  it's designed to give you a few ideas about how to use TBIO Day to raise awareness, inspire discussion and foster coalition building or involvement in girls' issues.

We appreciate your efforts and are eager to help you create this opportunity for discussions and activities between girls and the adults in their lives. We hope that you take time today - and any day - to celebrate all the beautiful people in your lives. The friends, family, teachers, mentors and leaders that have the amazing inner beauty that defines Turn Beauty Inside Out. Send them a quick note to tell them why you're thinking of them and wish them Happy TBIO Day!
