IMPORTANT - NEW - THE UN SPECIAL RAPPORTEUR ON VIOLENCE AGAINST WOMEN IS NOW OFFICIALLY CALLED TO PRESENT AN ANNUAL ORAL REPORT AT THE UN COMMISSION ON THE STATUS OF WOMEN, as well as traditionally at the UN General Assembly (Third Committee).

Resolution - The Human Rights Council,

12. Also requests the Secretary-General to ensure that the reports of the Special Rapporteur (on Violence Against Women, Its Causes and Consequences) are brought to the attention of the Commission on the Status of Women, the General Assembly, and the Committee on the Elimination of Discrimination Against Women, and requests the Special Rapporteur to present an oral report annually to the Commission and to the Assembly;"
