WWSF PRIZE for Women’s
Creativity in Rural Life 2008

Dear WWSF Members and Friends,
The Women’s World Summit Foundation
cordially invites you to submit nominations for its 15th annual PRIZE for Women’s Creativity in Rural Life Award,
honouring creative and courageous women and women’s organisations working to
improve the quality of life in rural communities around the world.
Since inception of the prize program in 1994, 331 Laureates have been
honoured for their creativity with a cash donation of US$ 500 each and US$ 3000
for established organizations in Africa. All Laureates and their profiles are
published on our web site http://www.woman.ch/home.php .
A travelling exposition is giving
visibility to all the prize winners which has recently been exhibited at the
United Nations in Geneva during a Human Rights Council session.
Given your experience, interest and
perspective with regard to issues of development, human rights, micro-credit,
peace building and empowerment of women, we greatly appreciate your
participation and thank you in advance for sending us your candidates. 15 to 20
prize winners will again be selected in 2008 and several of them will be
invited to Geneva to personally present their work at an award ceremony on 15
October – World Day for rural women, which has been declared last November an
official United Nations Resolution Day.
Your nomination(s), following the
guidelines attached, should arrive no later than 31 March 2008.

La Fondation Sommet Mondial des Femmes / WWSF Women’s World Summit Foundation a
le plaisir de vous inviter à soumettre des candidatures pour la 14e édition du Prix WWF pour la
créativité des femmes en milieu rural.
Le Prix honore chaque année des femmes et des organisations féminines du monde
entier ayant fait preuve de créativité, de courage et d’un engagement
exceptionnel dans l’amélioration de la qualité de vie dans les communautés
rurales.
Depuis le lancement de ce programme en 1994, 331 femmes et organisations
ont reçu ce prix (US$ 500.- par lauréate et US$ 3000.- pour des organisations
en Afrique). Les noms et profils de toutes les lauréates sont publiés sur notre
site Internet www.woman.ch <http://www.woman.ch>
Notre exposition itinérante offre une visibilité aux femmes et organisations
lauréates et a été dernièrement exposée à l’ONU à Genève.
Connaissant votre expérience et votre intérêt pour le développement, les droits
humains, le micro-crédit, le renforcement de la capacité d’agir des femmes et
la paix, nous apprécierions votre participation à cette initiative et vous
remercions d’ores et déjà pour l’envoi de vos nominations. 15 à 20 lauréates
seront à nouveau sélectionnées en 2008 et plusieurs d’entre elles seront
invitées à Genève afin de présenter leur travail lors de la cérémonie de remise
du prix le 15 octobre – Journée
mondiale pour la femme rural, reconnue officiellement par l’ONU en 2007.
Vos nominations, respectant les directives ci-jointes, doivent nous
parvenir par courrier avant le 31 mars 2008.
