ICMPD - The International Centre for Migration Policy Development

The International Centre for Migration Policy Development (ICMPD) is an inter-governmental organisation with United Nations observer status, created in 1993 at the initiative of Switzerland and Austria.  Supported by more than 30 governments, the purpose of ICMPD is to promote innovative, comprehensive and sustainable migration policies and to function as a service exchange mechanism for governments and organisations in Europe. Co-operating closely with national governments and international organisations, ICMPD is active in various fields, including visa policy, border management, asylum and readmission issues, and combating trafficking in human beings.
