CAMBODIA PASSES ANTI-TRAFFICKING BILL

  

 

The Civil Society of Cambodia has welcomed the passsage of a bill to tackle the issue of trafficking women and children.

Local human rights organisation, LICADO, says Cambodia is walking on the right path in campaigning against human trafficking.

The group's president Pong Chievkek, says she hopes Cambodia will now be taken off the US blacklist as the worst country with human trafficking issues.

The law aims to combat human trafficking and sex trade activities to protect human rights and human dignity and increase the healthcare and welfare of the people.
