KVINFO’s core acitivity is its library with over 20.000 books and
journals, political publications on equal opportunities and women's
issues. Our services include

women
KVINFO's story goes back to 1965, and was founded by the
librarian and writer Nynne Koch. In 1979 KVINFO became an
independent division under The Royal Library. In 1987 it gained
status as a self-governing institution under the Ministry of
Culture.

English language information service and offers a wealth of
information and resources on women, gender and society and gender
research in Denmark. All material on All About Gender in
Denmark is based on material accessible on our Danish website.
The information presented is written and compiled by KVINFO
staff and freelance writers. You can find articles and resources on
gender relevant legislation, gender research, women's history,
notable women, facts and figures and much more.
The organisation KVINFO is
a grant-maintained self-governing institution under the Ministry of
Culture. The Centre also undertakes projects financed by the
Ministry for Refugee, Immigration and Integration Affairs, Oak
Foundation, the Foreign Ministry, the Ministry of Education, the
Carlsberg Foundation amongst many others.
KVINFO’s director
is Elisabeth Møller Jensen. The center’s governing body is composed
of representatives from research institutions, research libraries
and women’s organisations.
KVINFO has more than 20 full-time
employees comprising librarians, research librarians, academics,
administrative personnel, researchers, etc.
KVINFO is
located in central Copenhagen adjacent to Denmark's Royal Library.
