INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE ON MEDITERRANEAN WOMEN

RECOMMENDATIONS

 

1.Recognition of the role of women in development and her productivity on the social, economic &and pedagogical levels.

 

2.The necessity of integrating women in the National Initiative of Human Development.

 

3.Guaranteeing women’s rights through:

 

-in equality, education, health coverage, and work while respecting her specificities.

 

4.Guaranteeing women’s participation in the management of public affairs and in decision-making.

 

5.Realization of an economic independence for both men and women:

 

-by encouraging micro-credit with the aim of enhancing women’s income and facilitating her contribution in development by convincing governments and decision-makers of the necessity of decreasing interest rates.

 

6.Organization of formation sessions for the benefit of women to ensure their integration in the social and economic fabric.

 

7.The necessity of reviewing school syllabi and curricula to suit the rapid changes caused by globalization while paying attention to gender equality.

 

8.Removal of all the obstacles which hinder the application of laws and allow a passage from theory to practice.

 

9.Necssity to continue the dialogue between the North and the South:

By surmounting the economic flaws between the North and the South and the difficulty of democratic integration.

And by surmounting the current problems in the Mediterranean Region

And by creating initiatives which take into consideration the economic and social partnerships between the countries of the North and the South.
